WASH/IPC

Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) and Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) are essential for preventing and containing outbreaks of disease. At ACHAP, we believe in strengthening the capacity of CHAs and Healthcare workers at the frontline of service delivery in healthcare facilities. The following resources will provide an overview of Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) and its intersection with water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH). It also provides key actions that staff can implement to help prevent infection and its spread in healthcare facilities: from human to human, among healthcare workers and patients, through droplets, and by touching contaminated services. The packages will encompass WASH, including waste management and environmental cleaning as essential for IPC.

ACHAP encourages our members to connect to other WASH practitioners and contribute to the global WASH in health care facilities initiative led by WHO and UNICEF
